  1. The last thing you want as a finish Carpenter is a waffle head hammer smooth for finish work waffle for framing

  2. I ain’t ever seen anyone ever actually use the warranties lmao. I should probably get on their ass about saving the receipt and doing this with their tools.

  3. My old tape measure is a Standley 8m/ 26′ by Tylon, when I was a glazer. I use it as a home tool now just because a starting employee kept bending the measure back and forth and really warpped my blade from 0-5in/ 0-12.6cm and it has a lot of chips on the side too. I rarely give someone my tape now and expect others to have the bare minum or I watch them use it and give it back right away. So far my Toughbuilt 26′ (Main) and Milwaukee 16ft (spare) are my go to and haven’t yet lost it.

  4. Lufkin 35f is trash used it first day buying it pulled it out to 33f and then wouldn’t go back in the holder. Kobalt 35f is the best even have the 16f kobalt.

  5. I have a husky bag that’s like that I’ve literally never zippered it closed and it’s harder to look in it and find what your looking for

  6. Why do you throw a lot of the heavy metal hand tools into the metal shopping cart? I realize tools are going to get wear and tear on them, but why intentionally abuse them? Especially before they belong to you. If someone came into my shop and tossed my tools around like that, I’d kick them out and tell them never to come back.

  7. My first set of powertools were all ryobis because I was poor. Eventually i Upgradrd to Makita after I made enough, but I held onto the old greenies and I cannot tell you the look of gratitude on my apprentice’s face when I gave him that set of beat up tools, just a drill driver and skilsaw, but holding on to these beginner tools even after you upgrade is always a good idea. You never know how fucked the rookie’s financials are, giving em your old screwdriver set might just be what keeps them in the trade

  8. Great tips for a beginner like myself! Im now excited to build my toolbox. Will buy used ones to add thrill, more economical and eco friendly. Thanks heaps for this mate!

  9. I know I’m late to the party but when it comes to adjustable pliers I have used channel lock and Pittsburgh and everything else but I have recently come to knipex and I will never go back

  10. You could get the same variety of tools for cheaper at Home Depot. You get the same warranties and even better quality but will save on nearly every item I saw here. The only great deal I saw was the hammer.

  11. Depends on how woke you are. Lowe’s leading the way in wokeness. Menards helps you load your shit. Lowe’s likes to watch

  12. When you have a tool with a lifetime warranty that goes bad, what is the process like in 20 years were it to go bad? Assuming you no longer have the receipt or packaging.

  13. "Hazzle free" at lowes means you have to have a rexeipt or the exact card you used to purchase it, sif its no longer available oh well they just tell you to fucc off. Lowes is the shittiest store there is and yes im aware ace exists

  14. Utility knife is indispensable; taken for granted.
I’ve used them all and nothing beats the Milwaukee Fastback. You’ll never touch another utility knife, and everyone will want yours

  15. I hate the measuring tape you chose not heavy duty quite the opposite, crescent tape drops 4 ft and breaks, well from my experience owning one, however great choice on hammer 24oz estwing is awesome.

  16. I’ve got a 30′ Stanley tape measure my dad gave me that will be my tape measure til someone comes and pries it out of my cold, dead hands.
